ATO forces are continuing to conduct street fighting against militants in Luhansk

The anti-terrorist operation (ATO) forces are continuing to conduct street fighting against militants in Luhansk, an adviser to the Ukrainian interior minister, Zorian Shkiriak, has said.

“The maneuverable groups of the special mission units of the Armed Forces, the National Guard, as well as infantry, are working in Luhansk, clearly coordinating their actions,” he told Interfax-Ukraine on Tuesday.

He said that Ukrainian military continued to clear the city of insurgents quarter by quarter.

“They are opposed by a gang of militants that include regular officers of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, as well as a group of bombers and snipers,” he said.

“Clashes in the city are continuing,” Shkiriak said.
