Hundreds On Hunger Strike In Kazakhstan Over Closure Of Labor Union

Some 400 oil workers have joined a hunger strike in western Kazakhstan since a court shut down their trade organization in early January. Activists say it is the latest in a series of moves by the Kazakh government against organized labor. (RFE/RL’s Kazakh Service)
