State Department: Foreign Policy Role Not Diminished Under Trump

The U.S. State Department held its first, much-anticipated briefing Tuesday since President Donald Trump’s inauguration in January. Acting spokesman Mark Toner, a career officer, fielded questions about reports the president plans to slash the department’s budget and U.S. foreign aid by about 37 percent.
